Diploma of Christian Studies (Dip. C.S)
Bishop’s College is offering a 2-year Diploma of Christian Studies (Dip. C.S) programme, which is an external course under the Senate of Serampore College (University). A candidate must pass Class 12 (10+2) or pass Class 10 with 3 years of work experience in a Christian ministry and should have completed 18 years of age to be eligible to register for this course. The course starts in February and ends in November every year. The validity of the registration is four years. The last date of the application for this course is on or before 15th October, 2023.(With late fee 31st October, 2023)
Objectives:
- To impart the study of Christianity, its history, faith and practices.
- To understand and interpret Bible in the Indian/South Asian context.
- To provide an opportunity in the Indian/South Asian context for the study of the interaction of Christianity with people of other faiths and cultures.
- To study the interaction of Christianity with the socio-economic and political realities of Indian/South Asian context.
- To help the churches to grow and develop various ministries and
- To promote theological education in regional languages as well as in English.

Bachelor of Christian Studies (B.C.S)
Bishop’s College is offering a 4-year Bachelor of Christian Studies (B.C.S) programme, which is an external course under the Senate of Serampore College (University). A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or should have passed Class 10 and cleared matured candidate exam (as per the policy of the Senate) with 2 years of ministerial work experience or should have passed Dip. C.S or Dip. B.T. with 2 years of ministerial work experience. The course starts in February and ends in November every year. The validity of the registration is seven years. The last date of the application for this course is on or before 15th October, 2023. (With late fee 31st October, 2023)
Objectives:
- To provide theological education as a critical transforming influence in personal, ecclesial and societal life in India/South.
- To provide tools for interpreting the Word of God in the social, economic and political context of the society.
- To enable persons to become effective witnesses in the context of their varied and diversified vocations.
- To study the interaction of Christianity with people of other faiths and cultures.
- To facilitate lay leadership in church and society with the study of Christianity, its history, faith and practices.
- To promote theological education in regional languages as well as in English.
